Re-build and Save the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn

GMB King’s Lynn Branch are supporting the campaign of the local Trades Union Council to save their local NHS hospital the QEH.

The QEH was built in 1980 at the same time as a hospital in West Suffolk. Both had a life expectancy of 30 years but both are still open and operational after 40 years. The hospital trust in West Suffolk has been given funding for a new building but the QEH has not.

The QEH risk register was reviewed by the hospital governing board on 8th March this year and their findings states:

“There is a direct risk to life and safety of patients, visitor and staff due to the potential failure of the roof structure due to structural deficiencies”

How can you help:

King’s Lynn Trades Council have been organising regular demonstrations outside the hospital every Wednesdays between 4.00pm – 5.00m and these will continue: Address QEH Gayton Rd, King's Lynn PE30 4ET
