GMB Union has reached an agreement with ASHI Group Ltd which will see the union recognised to represent two additional groups of monthly-paid manufacturing workers: facilities and maintenance.

This agreement builds on GMB’s existing recognised bargaining role covering hourly-paid workers, further consolidating GMB as the leading representative union within the business.

This expansion of recognition reflects a shared commitment to constructive industrial relations and ensures that a greater proportion of the manufacturing workforce will benefit from structured and meaningful collective bargaining.

The next steps will see GMB and ASHI Group Ltd formalise this agreement and arrange for the election of workplace representatives.

Keith Dixon - GMB Regional Organiser said:

“This is a significant and welcome development for GMB members at ASHI Group Ltd.

“By extending recognition alongside the existing bargaining group for hourly paid manufacturing workers, we are ensuring more workers have access to effective representation and a strong collective voice at work.”
