GMB London Region has welcomed the Government’s announcement that it has launched a consultation on mandatory ethnicity pay gap reporting.
GMB looks forward to contributing to this consultation and will continue to advocate for mandatory reporting.
Abdi Mohamed, Chair of GMB Race, said:
“GMB has long campaigned for the introduction of mandatory reporting on the ethnicity pay gap.
“Research and the Government’s own statistics have long shown that people from ethnic minority backgrounds tend to earn less overall.
“Requiring bosses to report on this disparity is an important step towards making work is fair and equal for all.”
