London Region's Simon Wilde awarded the GMB Mary MacArthur Award for Health and Safety

Daniel Shears, GMB National Heath and Safety Officer said:

"Lynsey Mann and I have worked with Simon in challenging Best Food over their health and safety management, and we are particularly pleased that his hard work over many years has been recognised. Simon worked tirelessly to introduce a new risk assessment process resulting in lower incidents of accidents in the workplace."

Warren Kenny, GMB London Regional Secretary said:

"As a region, we are really proud of Simon for his work at Best Foods in Hoddersdon, his award is well deserved.

"We are also really proud of Bismilla Mahomed from Asda’s South Ruislip store and Adam Wade from Asda's Great Yarmouth store who will be presented with regional awards. Bismilla and Adam are highly commended for their efforts in their workplaces to tackle health and safety issues and will be presented with awards from GMB London Region."
