NSL Parking Enforcement Officers in Enfield get London Living Wage rise before April

GMB members working for NSL, the company contracted to provide civil parking enforcement in the borough of Enfield voted on Tuesday 22nd November to accept the company’s early implementation of the London Living Wage.

The current rate of London Living Wage is £11.95 with the new rate of £13.15 per hour, representing a 10 per cent increase, effective from 1st April 2024.

In pay talks with GMB, the management at NSL offered the uplift to be implemented earlier, effective from 1st November 2023 giving workers an additional sum of £1,147, £229 per month.

Mary Goodson, GMB London Region Organiser said:

‘The offer was accepted by our members who, like so many other low-paid workers, are struggling with the rise in living costs and want money in their pockets now.

‘GMB recognises that Enfield Council enforces contractors’ alignment with the London Living Wage but what GMB wants and is campaigning for is a minimum of £15 per hour for all workers. This would help to provide them and their families the chance of a better standard of living after more than a decade of wage restraint and austerity.’
