DHL’s actions are immoral, unethical and disrespectful, says GMB Union

DHL has announced 80 redundancies at the company’s Banbury depot following contract changes.

Meetings between GMB union and DHL management failed to find a solution to the redundancies, now the employer has stopped negotiations and is forcing through the redundancies.

Stevie Robertson, GMB Convenor DHL Banbury said:

“DHL is pressing ahead with its own agenda, ignoring GMB agreements that have been agreed and signed off by the company’s senior management.

“DHL’s actions are immoral, unethical and disrespectful to every single GMB member.

“It appears the company’s labour relations and engagement with unions is just a charade, without any intention to genuinely work with unions to benefit members and the business alike.

“GMB will not tolerate the behaviour of employers that do not have the best interest of our members at the core and will proceed to consult with ACAS on this matter.”
